Estava aqui a navegar nos outros blogs que já mantive, e encontrei este post, que embora desactualizado, apresenta de forma bastante completa uma das personagens que mais respeito me transmite no actual panorama televisivo mundial:

A SIC Radical decidiu há muito deixar de transmitir o excelente "Daily Show" de Jon Stewart. O programa, misto de talk-show com notícias falsas e/ou trabalhadas com uma ironia mordaz, revolucionou o modo de ver a actualidade noticiosa americana. Segundo li há pouco tempo, o canal de Carnaxide já voltou a comprar novos episódios para breve [comprou-os e transmite-os actualmente não só na SIC-R como também na SIC-N]. Espero que sim (embora não me afecte especialmente, porque prefiro descarregar os programas mais recentes da net).
E já que o vão fazer, poderiam também dar uma espreitadela ao "Stephen Colbert Report", a produção que a Comedy Central transmite logo a seguir ao "Daily Show". Colbert já foi um dos elementos da equipa de Jon Stewart, mas o seu destaque foi tanto que o mérito de um programa só seu é indiscutível. Para quem não conhece, nada melhor que navegar pela internet e dar uma vista de olhos aos "estragos" que este senhor fez no recente baile anual dos correspondentes da Casa Branca em Washington. Os risos do presidente [em 2006] Bush duraram só até Colbert se referir às "situações encenadas" como a proclamação de vitória americana no Iraque, em cima de um porta-aviões, ou na mais recente visita populista e demagógica à cidade de Nova Orleães.
Podem ler o discurso de Colbert, em frente a todos aqueles jornalistas a que chamou de palhaços e "freaks", aqui. Tomo a liberdade de seleccionar alguns dos melhores momentos, para mais tarde recordar:

Jesse Jackson is here, the Reverend. Haven't heard from the Reverend in a little while. I had him on the show. Very interesting and challenging interview. You can ask him anything, but he's going to say what he wants, at the pace that he wants. It's like boxing a glacier. Enjoy that metaphor, by the way, because your grandchildren will have no idea what a glacier is.
